Business class assessment

Classify the organisation before scoring.

How the class is calculated

Choose the best description for each of the eight factors. Atlas uses the highest tier triggered by any two factors so the class reflects size, complexity, structure, risk, and how critical the business is to others.

Load a company profile, complete the classification, then apply it to the self assessment.

Use the total current staff count, including permanent staff and regular operational team members.

Use the latest annual revenue, or the best current annualised estimate where the business is new.

Assess how mature the business is, not only how long the company has existed on paper.

Count operating sites, branches, offices, clinics, plants, campuses, or material locations.

Consider licences, regulated activities, privacy, safety, financial, professional, or public-interest obligations.

Use the way decisions are actually managed, approved, escalated, and governed day to day.

Consider reliance by customers, employees, funders, donors, regulators, communities, or the public.

Assess how serious the impact would be if the business, service, platform, or process failed for clients or stakeholders.

Ready to continue?

When all factors have been selected, ATLAS will calculate the correct business class and apply it to the Self Assessment tab. The class is not shown while the assessment is still being completed.

The result will be saved to the company profile and used across ATLAS scoring, dashboard, and certificates.

Self Assessment
How to fill this in

Start by choosing the right business class, then work through the questions category by category. The full self assessment takes about 15 minutes.

Step 1 Confirm the business class

Complete the Business Class Assessment first. ATLAS will then automatically apply the right class to this self assessment.

Current class Startup

Complete the Business Class Assessment to confirm this company class.

Step 2 Use the right senior person

The Chief Executive Officer, Financial Director, owner, or senior executive should complete this because they see the real operating picture across the business.

Step 3 Confirm the company and answer the questions

Check that the right company profile is loaded, then score each question from 1 to 5 based on what is actually in place today.

Step 4 Move through the categories and save when ready

Use Previous, Next, and Save progress as you go, then submit the final score once all categories are complete.
